The Poetry of Place, a Nature Writing Workshop on Nonfiction and the Specificity of Language

“This beautiful place…unbroken field of poppy and lupin walled with clean cliffs; no intrusion but two or three horses pasturing…”

— Carmel Point by Robinson Jeffers

In this writing workshop, we will explore beautiful places, underrepresented spaces and barren landscapes using examples from various genres, such as essays, novels, poetry and children’s books, from authors such as Robinson Jeffers, Edward Abbey, and Arthur Staples Karslake.
