In this writing workshop, we will explore beautiful places, underrepresented spaces and barren landscapes using examples from various genres, such as essays, novels, poetry and children’s books, from authors such as Robinson Jeffers, Edward Abbey, and Arthur Staples Karslake. Join us for an engaging nature writing workshop on nonfiction and the specificity of language led by award-winning author Lisa Kerr. 

  • Learn how to effectively communicate scientific concepts to a general audience through writing. 

  • Explore various writing techniques through various genres to make environmental and scientific topics accessible to all readers. 

  • Receive feedback on your work from the workshop leader and peers. 

This workshop is geared toward writers of all levels and nature enthusiasts from all backgrounds in order to improve your connection with nature, your writing skills and to reach a wider audience.
